The Hitlist: May 2024

It’s May – the month where we’ll (hopefully!) be welcoming in the warmer weather! To celebrate pub garden Aperol Spritz incoming, we’ve rounded up the best things to listen to, watch, read and do.

The long-awaited third studio album from the Brit megastar is said to be inspired by Dua’s self-discovery, tapping into the joy of reaching a place of complete clarity on hard-to-face situations (something we can all relate to!). This 11-track masterpiece is full of dreamy pop tracks that embody the rawness, confidence and freedom of ‘90s brit pop.

Bridgerton is BACK – and we couldn’t be happier about it! The third instalment of the Netflix hit is dropping to two parts; the first four episodes will be released on the 16th May, with the final four hitting the streaming app a month later. This season will focus on the much-anticipated love story of Colin and Penelope. Hands up if you’ll be binging like us…

Hilarious, sly and wonderfully relatable, Sue's wonderful debut novel finds a socially awkward employee, Jolene, accidentally receive access to all of her hated colleagues' work emails. When her access informs her of forthcoming redundancies, Jolene realises she could wield her new-found knowledge even more powerfully. But the more she learns about the people she spends most of her waking hours with, the harder she finds it to hate them. 

The follow up exhibition from the Tate Modern’s 2016, ‘The Radical Eye’, and in partnership with fashion house Gucci, ‘Fragile Beauty’ will showcase 300 rare prints by over 140 photographers. Fun fact: all pieces are on loan from Elton John and his husband David Furnish, from their private collection that they have been collecting for 30 years.
